Learn how to put your designs on a T-shirt from start to finish!

With our 2-day, 8 hour workshop you will learn the basics of screen printing, get to create your own t-shirt design and print it.

The class will be taught by artists DEKAL and jimmySK – collaborating artists who recently held a t-shirt art exhibition on Nami Island (남이섬).

DEKAL is a Korean professional screen printer and artist with 25+ years of experience. He has his own professional print studio, T-day, where he has been running his own screen printing workshops for a number of years. (

jimmySK is an England-born, long-time resident of the ROK. He is a mixed media artist who uses screen printing as part of his process. Jimmy is a self taught screen printer who has completed several design and print briefs in Korea. (

Registration for this workshop is open until Wednesday, August 8 for only TEN PEOPLE and is a flat rate of 120,000 won.  Registration must be done in advance.

This price includes:

  • 8 hours of hands-on instruction over 2 days with professional screen printers

  • Teaching of printing techniques
  • The chance to experience the entire screen printing process, from design to printed tees

  • Use of your own silk screen and choice of inks

  • Professional advice on T-shirt design

  • 2 T-shirts to take home (provided free of charge)

  • Extra tees available to buy or you can bring up to 5 extra T-shirts to print on and take home

  • Snacks and beverages during the workshop

  • *25,000 won extra includes taking home your own screen!

  • Class size is limited to 10 to ensure a personal teaching experience



  • As this is a beginner class we will be only printing in 1 color – we will not be making multi layered/ colored designs this time around.

  • Students will need to provide an image for their design.

  • Time is allotted for designing; planning or drawing out your design or preparing an image before class is highly recommended

  • The design can be a drawing or a photograph

  • All designs will be drawn/ traced by hand onto a transparency for creating the silkscreen

Sat. August 11th – Meet & Greet

tbc Registered students and anyone interested in the Screen Printing Workshop can come for coffee and meet Jimmy and Dekal.   Brief introductions to the workshop and expectations will be presented. Anyone attending can ask questions. This event is optional but recommended. The location will be confirmed closer to the date but will be in the Itaewon area

Sat. August 18 – Day 1




  • Meet & Greet
  • Introduction to DEKAL and jimmySK
  • Schedule explanation
  • Demonstration of how to screen print
  • Students spilt into groups and learn how to print.


  • Design stage.
  • Students independently work on designs with consultations with teacher


  • Emulsion demonstration
  • Students put emulsion on their own screens


  • End of day 1

Sun. August 19 – Day 2


  • Review of yesterday
  • Explanation of today’s schedule
  • Exposing screens


  • Students print their designs


  • Closing ceremony

JimmySK’s First Open Studio!

Come stop by on Sunday between 2:30pm – 6:30pm to engage with the artist and see the unveiling of our newest work!  Recently, JimmySK has been working on a collection of pieces centered around Korean folk tales.  In addition to new paintings on display, JimmySK’s hand printed T-shirts and sweatshirts will be available on limited supply!

The JimmySK Studio is located in center of Seoul in the Haebangcheon area.  The easiest way to find us is to enter Haebangcheon from the intersection with all of the clay kimchi pots.  Walk into the Haebangcheon neighborhood (past Phillies, past Paris Baguette) and follow the road as it curves to the left past the Paris Baguette.  We will be just past the 7-11 on the left hand side of the road on the first floor next to a hair salon and a realtor.  Check out the map on our flyer on the Event page.
